Once your school has connected its LMS to Mindjoy, you can add any of your tutors, lessons and pathways to a course from inside the LMS. Students open them straight into Mindjoy, no extra login.
Open Mindjoy's picker
Start where you'd normally add an activity or external tool in your LMS and choose Mindjoy. For example, Add an activity or resource > External tool > Select content in Moodle, or External Tool > Find on a Canvas assignment. Mindjoy's picker opens.
The first time you do this in a course, Mindjoy asks you to Link your LMS course. Click Create classroom "<your course>" and Mindjoy makes a classroom for that course. Students who open Mindjoy from the course are added to it.
Choose what to add
1. At What would you like to add?, choose Tutor, Lesson or Pathway and click Next
2. Pick the item. Lessons and pathways have tabs for All, Mine and Shared with me, and a search box. Tutors show the ones you own. Lessons that aren't published yet say Draft under the name.
3. Click Next
Set the dates and add it
The Confirm step shows what you're adding and which classroom it's going to.
Lessons and pathways start straight away and are due on Friday at midnight (the following Friday if it's already Thursday or Friday). Click the pencil next to a date (Change start or Change due date) to pick your own, or untick Due date for No due date · submissions stay open.
If it's already in this classroom, you'll see Already in this classroom, so these are its current dates. Change them here if you need to. If it was closed, adding it again reopens it.
Tutors have no dates.
Click Add to course. For a draft lesson the button reads Publish and add to course, because students can only open published lessons.
Your LMS takes it from there and adds the link to your course. Students are notified, just as when you assign something in Mindjoy.
What students see
Lessons and pathways open directly in Mindjoy. Tutors open the chat.
Before the start date, the link opens the Mindjoy classroom instead, so nobody starts early.
If you close the assignment or move the item to the trash, the link opens the classroom instead.
Mindjoy doesn't send grades to your LMS. Marks, feedback and Insights stay in Mindjoy, where you review them as usual.
If something goes wrong
"<name>" is in the trash. Restore it before adding it to your course: restore it from the trash in Mindjoy, then try again.
You don't have permission to assign this lesson: you can only add content you're allowed to assign. Ask the owner to share it with you, or make your own copy.
Students see Your instructor hasn't finished setting up this course in Mindjoy yet: open Mindjoy from the course yourself and create its classroom.
Testing as a student? Opening Mindjoy from your LMS signs out anyone else signed in to Mindjoy in that browser, including you. Use a private window.
