The Educator Agent remembers things about how you teach: the preferences you express, the approaches you lean on, the concerns you raise about particular students, and the gist of your recent conversations. It uses that to give you help that fits you, rather than starting from scratch every time.
If you would rather it did not, you can turn that off.
Where the setting lives
Go to Settings, then the Agent preferences tab. Under Agent memory you will find Let the AI assistant remember me, which is on by default.
What happens when you turn it off
Two things, straight away on your next message:
The assistant stops receiving anything it had previously learned about you.
It stops learning anything new.
Nothing is deleted. Saved memories simply sit dormant, so if you turn the setting back on they become available again. It is safe to change your mind in either direction.
What is not affected
Your chat history is untouched, and long conversations are still summarised so the assistant can keep track of a lengthy discussion. A conversation you already have open keeps the context it started with; new conversations are clean immediately.
One knock-on effect worth knowing: the personalised prompt suggestions you see are built from the same background work. While memory is off, those suggestions stop picking up anything new and stay as they are.
