Every tutor runs on an AI model. By default Mindjoy picks one for you and keeps it current, but you can set a specific model if you have a preference.
Changing it
1. Open My Library from the sidebar and click the tutor you want to change.
2. Click Tutor settings in the top right.
3. Scroll to the bottom and open Advanced settings.
4. Open the AI Model dropdown and choose a model.
5. Click Save changes.
Which models you can choose
Automatic (default). Recommended. Your tutor follows whichever model we currently consider best, so it improves without you doing anything.
GPT 5.6 Terra
Gemini 3.1 Pro
Claude Sonnet 5
If you have no strong preference, leave it on Automatic.
Deprecated models
Older models sit at the bottom of the list with a Deprecated tag: currently GPT 5.1, Claude Sonnet 4.5 and GPT 4o. An existing tutor on one of these keeps working, but move it when you next edit it.
The models offered for the Educator Agent and the Student Agent are chosen separately, so that list will not always match this one.
