Written by Kat Morgan

So you've started moderating and realise you've made a mistake in your calculations in the mark scheme, or maybe you've not quite clarified the level of detail you're expecting and the auto marking is being too generous - on Mindjoy correcting this and automatically remarking hundreds of submissions is a simple few clicks away.

1. Navigate to Pathways.

2. Click on the Pathway you want to change.

3. Click on the Lesson containing the question you want to adjust.

4. Select the question.

5. Make the changes to the markscheme.

6. Adjust the maximum marks if you need to.

7. Click "Save"

8. Click to toggle the Sidebar on.

9. Click "All Classrooms"

10. Select the classroom you want to remark.

11. Click "Pathways"

12. Click "Submissions" on the Pathway you've just updated.

13. Click "Lessons"

14. Select the lesson containing the question.

15. Click "Re-mark affected questions"

16. Click "Remark"

17. The remarking will take a few minutes.

Re-marking in the new lesson experience

Re-marking works for every question type that carries marks, not just long answer. If you change the marks or the correct answer on a multiple choice, select all correct, match or resequence question after students have submitted, those submissions are flagged and Re-mark affected questions updates the marks students were awarded.

Editing wording does not trigger a re-mark. Only changes that affect marking count, which means:

  • Changing the marks allocated to a question

  • Changing which option is correct, or the correct pairs or order

  • Changing the mark scheme on a long answer question

Fixing a typo in a question prompt or in the text of an answer option leaves submissions alone, so you can tidy up wording without prompting everyone to re-mark.
