This guide shows you how to thoroughly test your tutor's responses and behavior before assigning it to students, including starting fresh test conversations.

Tip: Tip: Once you've created your tutor it is good practice to test how it responds when engaging with it in a chat

1. Open the tutor chat and click "Start Chat"

2. Click into the chat box and type in your question or request

3. In this example we asked the tutor

"Show me an example of a trig graph. Create an equation of your choice and then plot the graph"

However, instead of showing an actual plot we got an ASCII drawing πŸ€”... that doesn't look right

4. To change the tutors behaviour, click on "Settings"

5. In our case we realised that although the prompt was correct STEM mode (which is what enables the tutor to show mathematic visualisations) was off; so we had to turn it on by clicking on the toggle

6. After making a change in the tutor settings, always click "Save Changes"

7. Click "Chat" to go back to the tutor chat

8. Now we click on "New Chat" to test the effect of the changes we've made

Tip: Tip: It is best practice to always start a new chat after making a change to the tutor settings (whether in the prompt or other settings), as this allows you to immediately see the impact of your change

9. We then clicked into the chat box and asked the same question as in the previous chat to see how the tutor responds

10. Now as a result of enabling STEM mode, we now have a better plot πŸ“ˆ
