You tap Sign in with Microsoft, and instead of asking which account to use, Microsoft whisks you straight through and Mindjoy says We couldn't find your account. Or you land in Mindjoy as someone you are not.
This almost always means your browser is already signed in to a different Microsoft account: a personal Outlook or Hotmail address, a family member's account, or an account from another school. Microsoft sees that sign-in, assumes it is you, and never shows the account picker. The fix is to sign that account out of your browser, then sign in to Mindjoy again.
The quick fix: use a private window
A private window starts with no Microsoft accounts signed in, so Microsoft has to ask who you are. This works on a phone or a computer, and it is the fastest way to get into Mindjoy right now.
Chrome on a computer: press Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows or Chromebook) or ⌘ + Shift + N (Mac).
Chrome on Android: tap the three dots at the top right, then choose the option to open a new Incognito tab.
Safari on iPhone or iPad: tap the three dots, then New Private Tab. On older versions of iOS, tap the tabs button and swipe across to Private.
In the private window, go to app.mindjoy.com, tap Sign in with Microsoft and type your school email address and password.
A private window forgets everything when you close it, so you will need to do this each time. To fix it for good, carry on below.
The proper fix: sign out of Microsoft in your browser
In the browser you use for Mindjoy, open this sign-out page: Sign out of Microsoft.
If Microsoft asks which account to sign out, pick one. Open the link again and repeat until every account is gone and you see You signed out of your account.
Close the tab, go to app.mindjoy.com and tap Sign in with Microsoft.
This time Microsoft asks for an email address. Type your school one. If it shows a list of accounts instead, choose your school account, or tap Use another account if it is not there.
Signing out here only signs you out of Microsoft websites in this browser. Your Outlook, Teams or OneDrive apps stay signed in.
Using the Mindjoy app
Android: when you tap Log in, the app opens its sign-in window using your phone's main browser, usually Chrome. If that browser is signed in to another Microsoft account, the app picks it up too. A private window will not help here, because the app does not use one. Follow the proper fix above in Chrome, then open the app and tap Log in again.
iPhone and iPad: the app opens a private sign-in window every time, so it does not reuse accounts from Safari. Type your school email address when Microsoft asks for it.
For the full sign-in walkthrough, see Getting the Mindjoy app on your phone.
Open Mindjoy in your browser, not inside another app
If you tap a Mindjoy link in an email, WhatsApp or Teams, it often opens in a small browser inside that app. That built-in browser keeps its own sign-ins, which may belong to whoever uses that app, and you cannot easily sign them out. Copy the link and open it in Chrome or Safari, or type app.mindjoy.com into your browser yourself.
Still stuck
Check you are using the same school email address your account was made with. If you are not sure which one that is, ask your teacher: they can see it in your class list.
If Microsoft shows its own error message (often a code starting with AADSTS), take a screenshot and send it to us using the chat button. That code tells us exactly what went wrong.
If you usually sign in with an email and password instead, see Unlocking your account.
