Uploading Files in Tutor Chat

You can share images and documents with your tutor to get help with specific problems, homework questions, or any content you want to discuss. There are several ways to upload files during a tutor chat session.

Upload from your computer

1. In the tutor chat, click the paperclip icon in the message composer.

2. Select Upload File from the dropdown menu.

3. Choose a file from your computer. Supported file types include images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP), PDFs, and common document formats.

4. The file appears as a preview chip in the composer. You can add a message to go along with it, then click Send.

Drag and drop

You can also drag a file from your desktop or file manager directly into the chat area. A blue overlay appears to confirm the drop zone. Release the file to upload it.

Upload from your phone

If you have a photo on your phone that you want to share with the tutor, you can upload it directly without transferring it to your computer first.

1. Click the paperclip icon and select Upload from Phone.

2. A QR code appears on screen. Scan it with your phone camera.

3. Your phone opens a page where you can take a photo or select one from your gallery.

4. Once uploaded, the image appears in the chat composer on your computer, ready to send.

Tips

  • You can upload multiple files at once

  • Add a question or description in the message box to tell the tutor what you need help with

  • The tutor can read text in uploaded images, so screenshots of textbook pages or handwritten notes work well
