Classroom Insights puts every class in your organisation side by side, so you can see which ones are making good use of Mindjoy and which have gone quiet. It is part of the organisation Insights area, so you need to be an organisation admin to see it.
Opening it
Click Insights in the sidebar.
Click Classroom Insights next to Classroom Overview, or the Which classes cause the most activity? button under the Student Activity chart.
What each column means
Hover the ? next to any column heading for a one-line reminder. In full:
Classroom: the class name, with the educator who owns it underneath.
Students: how many students are enrolled in the class right now. This one ignores the date range.
Questions Answered: how many messages students in this class sent to tutors during your dates. That covers tutors assigned to the class and tutors built into lessons the class was given. It counts questions the AI answered for students, not quiz questions students answered.
Feedback Given: how many answers students submitted to questions in lessons assigned to this class during your dates. Each answer counts once, so a five-question lesson completed by 20 students adds 100.
Current Avg: marks earned as a percentage of marks available, across lessons students submitted (or you returned) during your dates. Resubmissions are not counted twice. N/A means there is nothing marked to average yet.
Both Questions Answered and Feedback Given only count students who are still enrolled in the class.
Sorting, searching and exporting
Highest Activity and Lowest Activity rank classes by Questions Answered and Feedback Given added together.
Search classrooms... finds a class by its name or its educator's name.
Download CSV exports the table with the columns Classroom, Educator, Students Enrolled, Questions Answered, Feedback Given and Current Mark Average (%).
The table shows ten classes a page. Use Previous and Next underneath to page through.
One class in detail
Click any class in the table to open its own page. Across the top you get Students Enrolled, Educators and Current Average, then the class's Student Activity chart (active students over time). Scroll down for two more sections:
Student Feedback is about marking. Total Feedback Given is the number of answers marked automatically, and Total Time Saved estimates the marking time that saved you, at Avg. Time per Question of two minutes per answer. It is an estimate, but a handy one for a staff meeting.
Questions Answered is about tutors. Total Questions splits into Tutor Questions (tutors assigned to the class) and Pathway Questions (tutors inside lessons and pathways). Outside Office Hours counts the ones sent at weekends, or before 8am or from 6pm on weekdays, in your own time zone. Proof, if you needed it, that homework happens at 9pm.
Everything on these pages except Students follows the date picker in the top right, which starts on Last 3 months. Change it to compare one term with the last.
