An auto-marked assessment is a lesson with questions and mark schemes, assigned to a class with a due date.
Build it
Open My Library, click Create, then Lesson.
Pick how to build it. For a paper you already have, With Agent and an attached file is fastest.
Check every mark scheme
This is the part worth your time. Open each question and read its Mark Scheme, because that is what decides every student's mark.
Set the feedback type
Use the three-dot menu and set Feedback type to On return, so you can moderate before students see anything.
Publish and assign
In My Library, open the three-dot menu on the lesson and choose Assign. Tick the classrooms and click Next. The due date is set to the coming Friday at midnight; give the class longer with the pencil if it is a big paper. Click Next again and check the summary. If the lesson is not published yet, the button reads Publish and assign and does both.
Moderate and return
As work comes in, open the assignment and check the marking, then tick the students and click Return submissions.
