Lessons created by the Educator Agent open in the New editor. The Educator Agent uses the document-style New editor when it generates a lesson, so you get a page-based lesson with inline questions and media. You can edit the result like any other New editor lesson.
The Educator Agent can help you create lessons through a conversational workflow. You can create standalone lessons or add them to an existing pathway, all through chat.
Where to start
When you add a lesson, the create menu gives you two agent-led options:
With Agent for a lesson you want to build together.
Copy My Lesson for a lesson you have already written and just want brought into Mindjoy.
Either one opens a new agent chat and gets the conversation going for you. You can also skip the menu entirely and simply ask the agent for a lesson in any chat.
The third option, From Scratch, creates an empty lesson with no AI involved.
Creating a lesson via chat
1. Open the Agent from the sidebar.
2. Describe the lesson you want to create. For example: "Create a practice lesson about electromagnetic waves for Year 10 physics."
3. The agent drafts a short overview first: the title, lesson type, year level, the topics it will cover and the mix of questions. You can read this overview and ask for changes before anything is built.
4. Choose whether to add it to a pathway or keep it standalone.
5. The agent then builds the full lesson in the background. You can carry on working while it builds, and the lesson appears in your Lessons library as an unpublished draft. Nothing is shared with students until you publish it yourself.
Copying a lesson you have already written
Choose Copy My Lesson when the lesson already exists and you want it reproduced rather than reimagined. Attach your document and the agent converts it into Mindjoy format as it stands.
This path behaves differently from With Agent in two ways worth knowing:
It sticks to your source. It will not invent extra questions, reword your content, or reorder your material.
It skips the overview step and builds straight from your document, so there is no draft plan to approve first.
If your document already contains questions and mark schemes, those are carried across and used for marking. As always, the lesson lands as an unpublished draft for you to check before you publish it.
Standalone or pathway lesson
During creation, the agent will ask whether you want to add the lesson to an existing pathway. If you choose Keep it standalone, the lesson is created in your Lessons library without being added to any pathway. You can always add it to a pathway later.
Assigning via the agent
After creating a lesson, you can ask the agent to assign it to a classroom. Say something like: "Assign this lesson to Physics 101 with a due date of next Friday." The agent handles the assignment and confirms the details.
Tips for better results
Be specific about the topic and year level
Mention the lesson type you want (practice, assessment, revision, tutorial)
Include any custom instructions for tone, language, or specific questions to include
Upload a document (PDF, Word, PowerPoint or an image) and ask the agent to build a lesson from it
