You can assign individual lessons directly to a classroom, without needing to place them in a pathway first. Students will see the lesson in their classroom alongside any pathway assignments.

Assigning from the Lessons library

1. Go to Lessons in the sidebar.

2. Find the lesson you want to assign and click the Assign button on the lesson card.

3. Select the classroom(s) you want to assign the lesson to.

4. Click Save to confirm the assignment.

Assigning from the lesson editor

You can also assign a lesson from within the editor by clicking the Assign button in the top navigation bar.

Setting a due date

After assigning, you can set a start date and due date for the lesson assignment. Students will see due date reminders, and you will be notified if assignments are approaching their due date.

How students see standalone lesson assignments

Students see assigned lessons on their home page in the Resume learning carousel, alongside pathway assignments. The lesson card shows the lesson name, due date, and progress status.

Closing a lesson assignment

To close a lesson assignment, navigate to your classroom, go to the Assignments tab, and use the assignment menu to close it. Closing prevents new submissions but preserves existing student work.
