Whether your students need help when studying, late-night homework sessions, or right in the middle of class when you're helping someone else.
1. In My Library, click Create and choose Tutor. You can also start from a classroom's Tutors tab.
2. Pick With Agent. That opens a fresh chat with the Educator Agent and starts the conversation for you. (The other option, From scratch, opens the manual form if you would rather set every field yourself.)
There is also a shortcut on your home dashboard. Create a Tutor there skips this choice and opens the agent straight away, with a classroom picker and a topic to fill in.
3. Describe the tutor in plain language: who it is for, the subject and level, what it should help with, and how it should behave. The agent asks about anything you leave out. If you already know exactly what you want, say it all in one go and it will work from that.
4. Attach any material the tutor should know, such as textbook chapters, a mark scheme, or your own notes. You can add these later instead, from the tutor's knowledge base.
5. The agent builds the tutor and it appears in your library. Nothing reaches students until you assign it.
6. To change anything, keep talking in the same chat. Say what you want different and the agent adjusts the tutor rather than building a new one.
7. Click on the tutor that is created after it finishes loading
8. Click "Start Chat" and test out your tutor for the first time. Pretend to be one of your students and make sure that it behaves how you would like it to with your students.
9. If you are not happy with the tutor and how it interacts head over to the settings. This is where you can modify anything about the tutor.
10. Lastly, what we need to do is we need to assign the tutor to a classroom. Click on the top right hand side of the screen on the assign button.
11. You'll see that a dialog pops up. You then need to select the classroom that you'd like to assign it to.
12. Once you click save, you'll notice that this tutor will officially be available to your students.
13. Once assigning the tutor it will take you to a page where you can see student activity. This should be blank to start but as your students talk to the tutor this page will start to show their conversations and useful insights about them.
14. If you would like to see how your students will see the tutors on Mindjoy click on the classroom in the side menu. Then click the Tutors tab.
15. This is what the tutor will look like to the student and when they click it, they will be able to immediately start chatting to the students.
16. Once students have started talking to the tutor this is what you as the educator will see. You can see overall how all the students are doing and you can even click on their chats and see exactly what they talking to the tutor about.
Image generation
Tutors can generate images inline during chat to help illustrate concepts visually. Enable this in the tutor's Settings page using the Image generation toggle. When enabled, students can ask the tutor to draw, illustrate, or visualise concepts and the tutor will create and display images directly in the conversation.
