You can't be everywhere at once—but your teaching can be.As an educator, you know the reality: you can't sit beside every student when they're stuck on homework at 9 PM, or give one-on-one help to all 30 kids during class.Learn how to build your own AI tutor that extends your teaching beyond the classroom walls. Whether your students need help when studying, late-night homework sessions, or right in the middle of class when you're helping someone else.
1. Navigate to the homepage
2. Click "Create an AI Tutor button"
3. Click "Start with AI"
4. Explain in english how you would like your tutor work with your students.
5. Optionally add documents to the tutor so it can respond better to your students. This could be Textbook chapters, Mark schemes or anything you think is relevant for the tutor to know.
6. Click "Create tutor"
7. Click on the tutor that is created after it finishes loading
8. Click "Start Chat" and test out your tutor for the first time. Pretend to be one of your students and make sure that it behaves how you would like it to with your students.
9. If you are not happy with the tutor and how it interacts head over to the settings. This is where you can modify anything about the tutor.
10. Lastly, what we need to do is we need to assign the tutor to a classroom. Click on the top right hand side of the screen on the assign button.
11. You'll see that a dialog pops up. You then need to select the classroom that you'd like to assign it to.
12. Once you click save, you'll notice that this tutor will officially be available to your students.
13. Once assigning the tutor it will take you to a page where you can see student activity. This should be blank to start but as your students talk to the tutor this page will start to show their conversations and useful insights about them.
14. If you would like to see how your students will see the tutors on Mindjoy click on the classroom in the side menu. Then click the Tutors tab.
15. This is what the tutor will look like to the student and when they click it, they will be able to immediately start chatting to the students.
16. Once students have started talking to the tutor this is what you as the educator will see. You can see overall how all the students are doing and you can even click on their chats and see exactly what they talking to the tutor about.
